The inclusion of these entries on this bulletin board does not constitute an endorsement by Christian Home Eduators of Colorado of the program, organization, or tutor. It is the parent's responsibility to investigate who will be involved in their children's education. We encourage parents to thoroughly investigate a potential tutor, and to stay involved on an ongoing basis with their children's tutorials. You should also ask for references and talk to others who have used these organizations/persons' talents.

Auralog

New!! -- The Arapahoe Library will be offering Auralog (which includes Dutch).  Access Auralog the same way you did Rosetta Stone. (Research Databases, and sign in with your library card.)

Go to the APL website (www.arapahoelibraries.org) and look under Research Databases (or just do a search for "Auralog" on their website) you can log in to the Auralog. What's even better - is that if you have each person use it with their own library card, it will keep track of their scores and progress -which is tremendously helpful for those of us that are using this as a part of our homeschool curriculum.

They will be expanding the language selection depending on the volume of usage that it gets - so please let all your Homeschooling and otherwise 2nd language interested friends know about this opportunity. If you are from outside the district, the librarian said you can still access this by using your library card # from your own library system. The more "popular" it becomes - the more justification they have for continuing and even expanding the program. You could also send a thank you note to Cynthia Kiyotake, the Web Coordinator at APL - it will help keep this program growing and expanding. (ckiyotake@ald.lib.co.us)

Biblical Greek, Biblical Hebrew, Theology 101, Science, History, PE, Computer Programming, Mini Electives Courses (offered in 3-6 week blocks, such as cooking, scrapbooking, sewing, etc), Study Hall (for students not enrolled in concurrent courses)

Benjamin Skaug, Senior Pastor of Central Baptist Church, will teach the Biblical Greek, Hebrew, and theology
classes.  All other classes will be taught by parent volunteers.  Each class will also have two parent assistants who will aid the teaching parent with crowd control, grading, etc.  All parents must commit to a volunteer position of some type in order for the co-op to work properly.  Openings are as follows: Teacher, Classroom assistant (checks/records grades), Nursery Workers, Study Hall Monitor, Hall Monitor, Volunteer Coordinator, Roaming Aid, Field Trip Coordinator, Administrative Assistant

It is our desire to offer courses for K-12.  Each subject will require several teachers, as children will be taught by combining grade levels.  For instance 1st-3rd grade would be one class, 4th-6th would be another, etc.  With enough children and teachers, classes could be broken down even more.  Please continue to check the HOMESCHOOL HELPS link on our website as plans are updated and finalized.

There would be Thursday evening rehearsals in the Aurora area with two performances on November 10. Debra will be taking the troupe for a some book signing appearances. It's a wonderful opportunity for an aspiring young actor or actress. They would have to enroll in the program (I believe it's $150) but would get training and wonderful experience and exposure, we expect to generate media coverage on this.

Throughout the week, students have the chance to explore monuments and memorials, debate one-on-one with Washington insiders, interact with their Senators and Representatives on Capitol Hill, and make new friends from around the country. They do all this as they learn about our government, how national decisions affect them, and what they can do to get involved and make a difference.
